Two days in the Pirates House

Well back at the good old MB!!  Spent two days up n Surf City with M.A., and Lance and we caught it fun!!!  Although not the crunchy barreling monsters we had back during Katia, these were lined up chest high streamers that gave you alot of wall.  Such a cool beach town too!!!  I never knew good old Blackbeard hung here in his day!!  Thought he was always hiding out up on Ocracoke.  Just a great break for me to get away to just surf and hang with good friends.  Oh yeah check out ESM for Katia pics, very seldom do we get this much coverage during a swell!!! Surf City does Surf City

Well in the wee hours this morning Mark, Lance , Kelly and I made our way to Surf City, aka Topsail Island.  We found some beautiful chest, even head high sets and long lines.  No death barrels for us today!!!  No link because I surfed way more than shot but there are a few little pics here for ya!!  Probably gonna make it back in the am before the restaraunt starts telling me my services are no longer required! HA!  enjoy.....

International Surfing Day

Today the local Surfrider chapter had their Free Surf Clinic and Beach Sweep to go with International Surfing Day this Monday.  Mark and the Surf City boys brought the boards down and we had a great turnout and great little waves for the kids to learn on!  We started with a quick beach sweep from the Island Vista up to 67th Ave. and then got the kids going!  These kids had a lot of fun and quite a few had never been on a board before.  Thanks to all that came out and supported Surfrider and had some fun!!!  Link to a slideshow is at bottom of post.  enjoy......

Here's Blair!!!

I'd like to introduce you to Blair Wheeler.  Blair is a local here in Myrtle Beach and works for Mark Allison at Surf City and rides for him too.  When not tossing buckets on his white diamond, he can be found providing financial support to Subway and loaded on double shot coffee.  The Kid's caffeinated for sure!!!  Word has it he loves cats!!!! hehehehehe

Surf City dressing rooms and Earth Day Music Fest

The dressing rooms are finished here at Surf City MB.  Took a little longer than expected but working two jobs sometimes does that huh?  The Earth Day Music Fest is this weekend and should be a whole lotta fun!  Hopefully Mother Nature will let us celebrate with better than forecasted weather.  Come on out to the old Pavillion site in downtown Myrtle for some great music, lots of fun for the kids, and maybe buy some artwork.  20% of my sales will go to the Wellness Council!!  enjoy.......

getting the last wall done

I have been working on a couple of dressing room walls for Surf City surf shop this past week and with too much work at my B-fish I have had to stretch this project out a lot longer than what I had expected.  I'm getting near the end and should be all finished by Tuesday.  It'll be really cool when complete!! enjoy.......

Surf City Surf Shop

I have been helping the guys at surf city get ready for their new shop.  Basically, whenever I've had free time I've just shown up to help out.  I also have done a little mural for one of the dressing rooms.  These guys have been around the Grandstrand now for some 30 odd years!  Wow, where does the time go?  I worked for Mark back in the late "80's and now my daughter has worked for him the past few years.  Anyway, here's a few pics of the mural and a link to the shops website and blog   http://surfcitymb.blogspot.com/
