Come on Irene

Irene has gotten closer and closer to us here in the Carolinas and hasn't dissapointed these past two days.  She's a big girl with a big push!!  Lots of water moving around up in Holden today as well as OIB.  Got some nice ones from the pier in Holden and then we went out in OIB.  Came back to MB and thought the squalls had really began to move in on us but Irene let up for a while and gave us great speedy lines for all to enjoy!!!  Picuteres below are of both MB and Holden today and there's a slideshow link for flickr too!  Have fun be safe and enjoy...... Stoke lives

The stoke lives in Myrtle Beach of all places.  What with the red-neck riviera that we live with here!  Some folk feel the need, the need for speed and slippy slidey grainerail wave riding things that propel the body through the effervescent angular wave-like motion of the sea.  You who may not know of these things lead a sheltered life and should all at once go forth and succumb to the sea and all she beckons.  Riding, gliding can be one of the closest feelings you ever get to a higher being.  This blog is taking a different avenue now that summer and waves have appeared.  We'll be keeping you up to date on all the fun and follies of the beach life as well as the waves too!  Fun with the boys on some journeys throughout the area in the next few days and we'll post soon!!! hahahahaha, enjoy........

been a few days

It's been a few days since I posted as I've been a little busy with some softball tourney shoots and other work.   Thought I'd put up some wishful thinking for waves and what not.

I was cold, wet and wind blown.  And I didn't even catch a wave!!!  Took some shots earlier in the am but wrong lens, windy blur action and hardly any were keepers.  I was pissed and didn't even want to go  back down when someone called.  I did, but only for a few, enjoy.......

So we've had some waves today!!!  It's been a pretty dismal winter here in the Carolina's and I don't think anyone expected anything today but what a surprise.  Nice little thigh to waist little lines for about 2 hours this morning before high tide got on it.  It's possible for a few days more but the wind will have to cooperate for sure.  Keep your fingers crossed and pray for surf.  I've got the spring fever and am ready to get on the log for some tip time myself.  With only the log available for me to ride I'll be paddling around soon on anything.  The camera, however, will be with me as usual.  Enjoy... pick up a little after your session and waves will appear.

Looks like all the forecasts are holding and we along the Carolinas will have some waves this weekend.  Get out there if you can, I'll be the one on a big Hobie gliding along like my friend here!!!
