Katia's a Shacky kind of girl!!!!

The Surf City crew and I made our way to Carolina Beach for early morning wave riding.  Katia did not disappoint.  There were crowds from all over the Carolinas and more.  The line-up was spread out up and down the beach though.  Waves were in the shoulder to head high range with an occasional over-head la bomba coming for all to have fun with!!  Enough of the talky talky, here's the digital proof!!! enjoy......    Katia at Carolina Beach

Reef Pro-Am, Wrightsville Beach

Slept in but made the trip up north to the Sweetwater Reef Pro-Am in Wrightsville today.  Great sites and super surfing going on!!  As always nice to see old friends and make some new ones.  Just a great gathering and contestable surf too!!  A little drifty you may say though.  Heading back up tomorrow for all the fun, plus the Art and Music expo too. Check out the link to the slideshow on flickr,  there's a bunch on there and that's just day 1.   enjoy........   Reef day 1

Sunset Beach

Off all day today and took a little trip up north for the sunset in North Carolina.  I also swung by the Sunset River gallery in Calabash and may start showing work with them.  A beautiful day, even though it's starting to cool off here.  Met some really cool people at both the gallery and in and around Sunset this evening.  We live in such a great area and have so many neat people around all the time.  enjoy......

Wilmington and beyond

I drove up to Wilmington, NC today before a little trip further north to pick up a nice Peter Pan Slug from a new friend.  I had a few hours to kill before meeting my new log and walked around the downtown area of Wilmington.  It's such a cool vibe down there and always fun to shoot.   I'm sure I'll post some pics of the board later but these are mostly of Wilmington, just doing the walk around and then a couple from Topsail Island sunset.  enjoy......

I say I say I say Eye-gorgeous

We've had a pretty nice run the last month with Earl giving us epic swell two weeks ago and now Igor pushing through for these past couple of days.  Up early each morning for a little stretch and coffee, then off to Carolina, Holden, Ocean Isle beaches is great!  Just having a little longer to get used to my flying eyeball....I spent a little too much time on the longboard this summer.  More to come....enjoy......

Earl in Ocean Isle

The surf city crew and I made the pre-dawn trek to OIB on 9/2 and found easy 6 to 8 foot clean faces with drifty conditions.  The swell kept building as the morning went on but after 12 it hit hyperdive and by high tide became a little too sketchy for anyone.  Blair, Lance, I, and one other guy were the only guys out and after 2 or 3 waves had drifted about a mile down the beach.  It was a long walk with longboard in the wind.  The last 2 pics are from Sunset later in the day.  Earl was exactly as forcasted, I have 2 halves of a longboard to show.
